Haley has lived in California her whole life, although she grew up in SoCal, which is practically a separate state from Northern California.  She studied Art at UC Berkeley, and is now working on becoming a speech therapist.  She especially enjoys working with kids who are nonverbal or who have emerging speech and language.  Her other pursuits include arranging flowers, meditation, accumulating shoes, studying American Sign Language, enjoying the Bay Area food scene, reading Neil Gaiman and the like, and occasionally dancing.

Mark was born in Birmingham, UK and studied Medical Physics at Imperial College of London.  He came to the United States in 1997, and did his PhD in Biophysics at UCSF.  Currently, he’s working in a lab that investigates the origin of animals by studying organisms called choanoflagellates.  He enjoys food, tinkering, learning about everything from psychology to botany, listening to books on tape and The Economist, gardening and foraging for huckleberries.
